The proposal for the BUSD Bus Depot at 1325 Sixth St. will be presented this Thursday, Jan. 19th at 7:30pm at the North Berkeley Senior Center at 1901 Hearst. Apparently this is old news...but here it is anyway. Back in Feb/March of 2005, Cemex, one of the largest producers of building materials in the world, bought RMC Pacific. CLIF Bar's facility on Fifth Street is no longer big enough to house their one hundred million dollar a year business. Well, maybe not any more...but for a few days last month there was a new one on Frontage Road where it crosses Cedar Street. It was not put there by the city but more likely by a disgruntled neighbor who wanted people to slow down. Talk about taking matters into your own hands. Apparently people are STILL stopping there, even though the sign has been removed.

This project by Hudson Mcdonald is currently under construction. It contains "15 commercial condominiums". It is not clear to me whether or not people will be living in them. I'm guessing not, since it is in a MULI zone. April 2005 City Council Packet

After months of wrangling, the mitigated negative declaration has been approved, as is the demolition of the house. The warehouse project as proposed was denied approval. After a solid month of neighbors' phone calls and our BPD area coordinator Officer Warren's dedication, the fellow has finally been persuaded to move on. This was after he resided on Camelia at 6th over a year. In that time, he repeatedly bothered at least 2 women in the area, had up to eight cars/motorcycles parked around the block, used other people's trash bins, left quite a bit of clutter
